Constructionline is the UK’s register of local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants, pre-qualified to work within the public sector. Constructionline is DTI owned and endorsed, and is a contributor to the Rethinking Construction initiative.

Before a company can become a British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) member and therefore appear in the BESAbook, they have to meet the strict eligibility criteria and agree to abide by the BESA Code of Practice. These exist to ensure high quality, safe, value for money products and services for education.

Local authority health and safety and contract professionals, supported by the Health and Safety Executive, have developed the Contractor Health and Safety (CHAS) Assessment Scheme over recent years. An accredited contractor is one who has chosen to commit to annual assessment of Health and Safety.
